01 / How it was done

How it was done

In a sauna, every degree of heat matters. That's why in this project we used GRIZO Thermo+ reflective mat to insulate the walls, ceiling and floor — comprehensively, so that the heat stays inside and the room heats up faster and more economically.

The sauna interior was lined with multilayer mat on a timber frame. The mirror-like aluminium surface reflects thermal radiation back into the room instead of letting it pass through the walls. It's a simple but very effective mechanism — especially in small, intensively heated spaces.

We paid particular attention to joints and overlaps. The GRIZO Thermo+ mat strips overlap each other, and the corners and junctions were carefully cut to fit so that everything forms one uniform, sealed layer. This avoids thermal bridges and heat loss in the most exposed places.

The photo also shows a roll of GRIZO Thermo+ mat ready to be laid — a flexible, lightweight material that is easy to fit to irregular shapes and small areas. This is one of the system's greatest advantages: insulating effectiveness with minimal layer thickness.

The end result is a sauna interior ready for the benches and stove. Thanks to GRIZO Thermo+ reflective insulation, the room will reach sauna temperature faster and cost less to keep hot — without the need for thick layers of traditional insulation.
