GRIZO Thermo+ in an attic
Installing GRIZO Thermo+ reflective mat in the attic of a detached house — a continuous, sealed layer under the entire roof slope.

How it was done
The project covered complete insulation of the attic in a detached house in Bielsko-Biała. The owner was looking for a solution that would improve thermal comfort in both winter and summer — without demolishing the existing roof structure.
The choice fell on GRIZO Thermo+ mat with glass-fibre-reinforced aluminium and three layers of bubble film. The mat was laid across the entire roof slope and on the knee walls, keeping the air gap the reflective layer needs to work.
We paid particular attention to the difficult areas: the corners at the gable walls, the chimney and the junctions between the mat and the masonry. Every joint was sealed with aluminium tape, so the whole surface forms a continuous vapour barrier.
The mat was fixed with staples every 20–25 cm along the rafters, with a 5–10 cm overlap on each successive strip. Installed this way, the reflective layer is guaranteed not to lose its seal as temperature and humidity change.
Result: an even, mirror-like surface ready for the frame and plasterboard. The owner gets a warmer home in winter, a noticeably cooler attic in summer and savings on heating in the seasons to come.
